Cake Pops!

The idea is not original. I wish I could take credit for such creativity. I stole the idea from Bakerella. If you don't read her blog, start. But I have somewhat successfully made them my own and begun offering them as favors and desserts at special occasions. This is how I keep my sanity after working a long day in an uncomfortable chair staring at a computer screen. It wouldn't be so uncomfortable if I had better posture, but I digress.

Let me know if you'd be interested! I would love to custom design some cake pops for you or friends. But don't worry, I won't turn this blog into my marketing venue. I will, however, try to feature what I am currently working on. Next week I will be making red velvet and chocolate chocolate chip cake pops dipped in chocolate, drizzled in white chocolate and decorated with silver dragees for a wedding show. I am way excited! Stay tuned!

My favorite cake pop flavors (and some I will be testing soon):
Lemon
Chocolate chocolate chip
Red velvet
Dark chocolate
Strawberry shortcake
Chocolate cheesecake
Rich New York cheesecake
Oreo
German chocolate
Elvis - banana cake dipped in peanut butter drizzled in chocolate
Almond Joy - coconut cake covered in chocolate decorated with an almond, toasted coconut and drizzled chocolate
Ferrero Roche - ganache covered hazelnut dipped in chocolate and rolled in chopped nuts
Mocha - dark chocolate cake flavored with espresso dipped in chocolate and dusted in coffee powder, topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean
Turtle - caramel wrapped in fudge brownie cake dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with nuts
Peanut Butter - decorated with fork lines like a traditional peanut butter cookie
Grasshoppers - crushed grasshopper cookie cake dipped in chocolate decorated with a green fondant spearmint leaf

These are chocolate chocolate chip pops, dark chocolate pops and lemon pops dipped in white, blue and chocolate colored chocolate, decorated with fun, whimsical sprinkles. This cake pop package is for a friend's coworker's birthday. The ASU package is for a friend's son's first day at ASU. She wanted him to have plenty so he could make new friends in the dorms. I'd be friends with someone who gave me delicious treats, too!

These might look familiar. These are the cake pops we made as favors for our wedding. Chocolate and lemon cake pops in the shape and decorated like cupcakes. My trial run at cake pops. Not too shabby eh? They seemed to be a big hit.

The next set of pictures are cake pops I made for Teaghen's 3rd birthday. These were especially fun since we both love hot pink! Notice how I decorated the box with hot pink feathers. What three-year-old wouldn't love that!

I also like to make flower hair clips. Teaghen's birthday gift from me were a couple of my favorite flower hair clips. Hehe, I hear her mom likes to steal them from her.
Elvis pops. Just the right amount of banana - always a crowd pleaser.

Mmm... I have the fondest memories of these guys. Chocolate cheesecake. Wowza! The decorations are so simple, but I love how playful they are. Chocolate cheesecake = yummy nummy.

Yummy. Nummy.
