September Update

I have to admit, I have been reluctant to post lately. Every time I update our blog, people at work give me a hard time (jokingly of course) about how they get the updates as well. I think I fixed the problem by changing another setting, but I'm sure they'll let me know if I didn't :). Our lives aren't all that interesting right now anyway, so there's really no need for them to read my posts, ha!

So what have we been up to this past month?

Well first...wedding updates:

I bought THE dress. Yes I know that I already had a dress...but isn't two better than one?! Seriously though, this is THE dress, I am so excited, it is everything I wanted in a dress. And I still got a great deal. It finally came in the mail last week. I was so afraid it would be to small (suck it in girl!) but it was actually a little big (phew!). So I'll need some alterations done (anyone know someone good that's worked with wedding dresses before?). I think I might alter the other dress to be a short dress to switch into late in the night when I just want to party and dance. My mom suggested that, I thought it was a very cute idea.

Sunday I went to a wedding expo in the east valley. I didn't have very high expectations but it was great!! I think I found the most amazing photographer and maybe even a DJ. Bummer though, I can't really get deals on these types of things without an equal drop in quality. The amazing pictures will be well worth it in the end, though.

Other updates (you mean my life doesn't just revolve around the wedding?)
Dan and I are keeping super duper busy...school, work, school, work, repeat. For me I also have racquetball at night (which is going well, keeps me active). Dan recently found out after getting his MRI back that his ACL is torn in half and he'll need surgery. So I'm sure he'll love a kind word around December 18th when he gets it done. It's a long process until he's back to full capacity but much needed. The poor guy is going crazy not getting to do his fun, active stuff like snowboarding, skateboarding, volleyball, basketball, wakeboarding (although he tries to do this stuff anyway). We've been doing a lot with the fam lately. Dan went to Tucson last weekend to see his sis, bro, bro-in-law, parents, nephew, and niece. I didn't get to make it down because I was playing in a charity all-day volleyball tournament with my fam. My mom, my dad, and I were all on different teams and wound up taking 3rd, 2nd, and 1st, respectively. Yay!! It was a blast. I've had a pride issue with volleyball so I literally haven't played in three years. How quickly those skills come back to you, especially when you're having fun. Dan and I also played in a charity poker tournament at my parents' house last weekend. Good times. I won that too!! Yay! Dan was in for a long time as well. My parents' poker tournaments always draw a fun crowd.

What else is new? My work continues to go well. I just had my first evaluation, and it went extremely well. I have to keep working hard though...in these times I will need every job opportunity and every recommendation possible (hopefully the job opportunities!!). Dan has an interview with Honeywell coming up that he's been preparing for. He's been doing a great job on keeping on top of his future prospects. He has kept in touch with people from US Airways, J&J, AmEx, Honeywell, and some others. It's scary but exciting to think what our future holds and where it might be!! Maybe San FRan? That'd be awesome, I'm sure Jon and Brooke would agree! I want to live there at some point in my life.

So overall things are tough right now and the sleep comes sparingly (literally 5 hours a night on average for the two of us, some weeks worse), but I'm sure we'd both agree we're having so much fun right now...so much fun!!

My last year...the end is near!

Sorry to hear about the car accident...saw it on facebook.

Congrats about the dress. I know of a great lady in Mesa who does awesome alterations. Let me know if you still need someone.

So what is Dan planning on doing at Honeywell? My Dad works there and has since I can remember.

All the charity games sound fun!
